Since the Fonjan podcast debuted in April 2015, thmanyah has expanded to over sixty diverse productions, including podcasts, newsletters, and documentaries covering various fields.
We are often asked if our shows ever stop. We believe in balancing long-term commitment with the courage to pause when necessary. Today’s lineup, including Aswat and Rio Jay, reflects this philosophy.
Our shows vary by age and rhythm. Some are decade-long staples, while others are seasonal, event-based, or experimental tests used to measure audience impact.
Do thmanyah shows stop?
We treat shows as evolving projects. We regularly assess their audience reach and editorial relevance to decide whether they should continue, pause, or be reformatted.
Pauses often occur between seasons to allow for production planning or audience-focused improvements. For example, Sawalf Business paused in 2023 for development and returned in a new format. Similarly, Alfajr transitioned from a daily to a weekly format after 100 episodes.
Seasonal shows like Aswat and Ehtiyal include planned breaks as part of their design.
Sports-related shows like Hawl Al-Jawlah, Al-Dawri Al-Muwazi, and Mansheet follow the sports season, with activity fluctuating in line with tournament schedules.
How do we decide?
We do not decide whether programs continue or stop based on a single angle. Our production decisions are guided by three main considerations.
1. First, we look at editorial value: does the program still add something clear to thmanyah’s content? Does it answer a real question? Is its idea still able to develop rather than become repetitive?
2. Then, we look at the content creator: is the program still a good fit for their voice, interests, and stage of development? Sometimes an idea matures in a different direction, or the host may need a wider, calmer, or more suitable format for what they want to say today.
3. After that, we look at the program’s relationship with its audience: listening, viewing, engagement, comments, and followers' requests. We do not treat numbers alone as the final judgment, but they help us understand the program’s impact and its place among its audience.
The production plan coordinates season timing and episode distribution within thmanyah’s schedule. However, it never dictates a show’s closure as long as the program retains its editorial value, suitable voice, and audience engagement.
We prioritize transparency regarding program changes, announcing major updates via special episodes, newsletters, or official channels.
