How you manage the bank card linked to your thmanyah subscription depends on the payment method you used when subscribing. Some subscriptions are managed directly through thmanyah, while others are managed through app stores or partners. For this reason, the steps to remove the card differ depending on your case.
Before you start
- Removing a card, canceling a subscription, and deleting an account are not the same thing.
- Removing a card means deleting the saved payment method from your account or from the store you used to subscribe.
- Canceling a subscription means stopping the next renewal, while your subscription stays active until the end of its current period.
- Deleting your thmanyah account permanently removes your data but doesn't automatically cancel app store subscriptions or remove payment methods from Apple or Google Play. To manage those, you must use the respective store's settings directly.
If your subscription is through thmanyah web app
If you subscribed through the thmanyah web app, you can manage your payment method from the subscription page in your account.
⚠️ In some cases, you may not be able to delete the bank card. For example, if you have an active subscription that depends on this card for billing. This restriction helps keep your subscription active and prevents renewal or payment attempts linked to your account from failing.
After you cancel the subscription renewal on the website, or after your subscription ends and any payment attempts linked to it stop, you will be able to remove the card from your account.
If your subscription is through the Apple App Store
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, payment and card management are handled through your Apple account, not through thmanyah. This means thmanyah cannot delete or edit the card inside your store account.
To remove a card from iPhone or iPad:
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap your name.
3. Select Payment & Shipping.
4. Tap Edit.
5. Tap the delete button next to the card.
6. Confirm removal.
⚠️ You may not be able to remove a payment method if you have an active subscription, an unpaid balance, or if you are the organizer of Family Sharing and use purchase sharing. In these cases, review your Apple account settings.
If your subscription is through Google Play
If you subscribed through Google Play, payment and card management are handled through your Google account, not through thmanyah.
To remove a card from Google Play:
1. Open Google Play.
2. Tap your account picture.
3. Select Payments & subscriptions.
4. Select Payment methods.
5. Open More payment settings.
6. Choose the card you want to delete.
7. Tap Remove, then confirm removal.
⚠️ Google may ask you to sign in again. You may also be unable to remove a payment method if it is linked to an active subscription or an existing payment. In this case, update the subscription payment method or cancel the subscription from the store first.
If your subscription is activated through a voucher
If your subscription is activated with a voucher, you may not be able to remove the card while it is active. Even though the voucher activated the subscription, the subscription remains active in the system and is linked to a saved default card.
After canceling the subscription or after the subscription period ends, you can remove the card if it is no longer linked to an active subscription or to any pending payment attempts.
If your subscription is through stc billing
If your subscription payment is made through your stc mobile bill, it does not require a saved bank card. Based on that, you do not need to remove any card through the thmanyah website. You can manage or cancel your subscription directly from the subscription page in your account on the thmanyah website.
If your subscription is free through stc packages
If your subscription is activated through stctv packages or internet offers from stc, the bank card is not the approved payment method. In this case, managing the subscription is linked directly to the package that provides the service. You can only cancel the thmanyah subscription by changing or canceling your package with stc, not through the thmanyah platform.
FAQ
1. Why can’t I remove the card sometimes?
The card removal option may not appear, or the process may not be completed, for one of the following reasons:
1. You have an active subscription on the thmanyah website that is linked to the card.
2. The card you are trying to delete is the default card for the subscription.
3. There are payment or renewal attempts linked to the subscription.
4. The subscription was activated using a voucher and remains active.
5. The subscription is through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and card management must be done from the store itself.
6. The store has required conditions, such as an active subscription or an incomplete payment.
2. Is removing the card the best way to cancel my subscription?
No. Removing the card does not automatically cancel the subscription. If you want to stop the next renewal, cancel the subscription from the subscription page or from the store you used to subscribe.
3. Does canceling the subscription delete the card?
Canceling the subscription stops auto-renewal, but it does not necessarily delete the card. After canceling renewal, or after the subscription ends and payment attempts stop, you can remove your card.
4. Does deleting the account delete the card?
You can delete your account after canceling the subscription or after it ends. If the subscription was through the thmanyah website, this will delete all data related to the account.
If the subscription was through digital stores, bank cards will remain saved in the Apple App Store or Google Play. You need to remove the card and complete the account deletion process through the store settings. Please note that if you do not do this in the stores, the subscription may continue and renew automatically.
5. Why can I delete other cards but not the main card?
If you added more than one card to your account, you can remove all cards except the main card because it may be linked to an active subscription or an upcoming renewal. After canceling renewal, or after the subscription ends and payment attempts stop, you will be able to remove the main card.
6. I subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Can thmanyah delete my card?
No. Payment cards for store subscriptions are managed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Delete or edit the card from the payment settings in your store account.
7. I subscribed using a voucher. Can I remove the bank card?
Yes. You can delete your card even if you subscribed using a voucher and the subscription is active. If you face any issue, you can contact the «Ask thmanyah» team.
8. When can I remove the card after canceling the subscription?
If you cancel renewal from the website, or if the subscription period ends and payment attempts stop, you can remove the card from your account.
